Ashley Theunissen is a senior research professional with nearly 20 years’ experience across UK higher education, specialising in research management, researcher development, and research culture. She was appointed Senior Partnerships Manager in 2025, and is tasked with working with universities, funders, and sector bodies to improve the research environment and support inclusive, sustainable research careers.
Ashley has extensive experience in research strategy and governance, having contributed to institutional REF submissions and led initiatives to support researcher development, career progression, and responsible research practice. Her background also includes legal training and a deep commitment to equity and inclusion.
