Supporting the development of researchers can be rewarding, challenging, and, at times, isolating. Finding dedicated space to reflect, share experiences and learn from others in similar roles is invaluable. That is why Vitae is delighted to open registrations for the Peer Mentoring Circles 2026–2027 scheme.
Following the success of two previous programmes, the scheme brings together researcher developers from Vitae member institutions to build supportive peer networks across the sector. Participants have the opportunity to discuss common challenges, exchange ideas and good practice, and learn from colleagues working in a variety of research development and research culture roles.
The opportunity to join the circles is open to anyone who has a role that involves supporting the professional or career development of researchers. The circles provide a trusted space for professional reflection, problem-solving, and personal development, while helping participants expand their networks beyond their own institution.
Whether you are new to researcher development or have many years of experience, Peer Mentoring Circles offer an opportunity to connect with peers who understand the opportunities and challenges of the profession. Participants’ feedback demonstrates that they find the scheme valuable for gaining fresh perspectives, developing confidence, and building lasting professional relationships.
Registrations for the 2026–2027 Vitae Peer Mentoring Circles are open now and will close on Friday 2 October 2026. If you would like to make time for your own development while contributing to a supportive community of practice, now is the perfect time to get involved.
